Description
Summary:A dichotomous and foundational supposition of the Biblical Counseling movement is that sin-habits cause the presentation of symptom-sets indicative of diagnosable, psychological disorders; and, the effective treatment of those disorders is causatively correlated with repentance from sin, a supposition that is neither supported by biblical attestation nor confirmed by empirical research. Present Biblical Counseling-theory includes evidence-based protocols in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder, but often fails to specifically reference such protocols when included in the presentation of Biblical Counseling-theory. The following paper critiques the effectiveness of Biblical Counseling for the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
