Description
Summary:The article presents a case study of an interview with an evangelical convert in the Ecuadorian Andes. The author's conclusions on the displacement of her respondent's personality from his original Indian environment are reflected within the framework of transference and counter-transference. The latter problem is pinpointed in a critical discussion of the central part of the interview situation. Alluding to her findings, the author asserts the methodological value of a psychoanalytic approach for gaining insights which are not patent to other forms of research
