Summary:Ebyathar is a young Cevenol hermit the author met while studying the "return to nature" phenomenon between 1976 and 1979, as well as utopic immigration, since 1968, to deserted areas in the south of France. During eighteen months, the author followed Ebyathar's itinerary from a mystical experience of "escape from the world" to a millenarism opposing the wicked world to a certitude of better times to come, from a heritage to a community founded on eschatological awaital. ¶Observation of the passage from a mystical system to a sedentary community and of the routinization of charisma presents a series of theoretical problems in relation to the analysis of Weber and Troeltsch regarding charisma, prophetism, mysticism ...¶
