| Summary: | In this essay Jewish Bible exegesis in Alexandria is for the first time investigated in light of Homeric scholarship, which simultaneously flourished in the city. It is shown that the Jewish authors engaged in the contemporary Greek discourse also in the field of hermeneutics, producing pioneering forms of interpretation. The latter is distinguished by its literary approach, which led to systematic commentaries as well as critical text analyses. The article focuses on Philo and his anonymous colleagues, with whom he debated. In diesem Aufsatz wird die jüdische Bibelexegese in Alexandria zum ersten Mal im Licht der Homerforschung, die zur selben Zeit in der Stadt blühte, untersucht. Es wird gezeigt, dass die jüdischen Autoren auch auf dem Gebiet der Hermeneutik in regem Austausch mit ihren griechischen Zeitgenossen standen und bahnbrechend neue Formen der Interpretation entwickelten. Diese zeichnete sich durch ihren literarischen Ansatz aus, der zu systematischen Kommentaren und kritischen Textanalysen führte. Im Mittelpunkt der Untersuchung stehen Philo und seine anonymen Kollegen, mit denen er sich auseinandersetzte. |
