Description
Summary:Spirituality in the religious setting will usually be linked with theism - a belief in God, who is a Person - especially as presented by Christianity. Daniel Helminiak proposes a more inclusive approach and, as such, he defines spiristuality more broadly as self-transcendence or the dimension of the human mind which creates meaning. Helminiak's proposal is interesting especially because it goes beyond a descriptive approach and points to a possibility of developing an explanatory and even normative dimension of psychology of spirituality. This paper will examine the possibility and limitations of this emerging approach to human spirituality.
