Description
Summary:This article reports key findings from surveys completed by 435 Black youth ages 13-18 across the four geographic regions of the United States in the research project, "Building Bridges of Hope: The Church's Role in Reaching Disconnected Black Youth." Undertaken by the Youth Hope-Builders Academy (YHBA) of Interdenominational Theological Center and supported by the Lilly Endowment, Incorporated, the study results reveal the desires of youth for the Church's outreach to them and pastoral care-giving practices of healing, sustaining, guiding, and reconciling that address their very real and often tough daily lives.
