| Summary: | The author describes the principles and socio-cultural processes existing at the source of the intense activity displayed by the members of the Mormon Church. The interiorisation of their involvement in the Church is accelerated among the future converts by a rapid participation in res ponsibilities. Amongst members born into families already belonging to the Mormon Church, the same feeling is accentuated by the importance of the parts played by even the very young. Conversely, marginal members who seek to become more independent, are confronted by opposi tion in a variety of forms, due to the remarkable intermingling of reli gious and personal relationships, especially such as are connected with family life. |
