Pilgrimage and enlightenment
This essay explores the ideas of pilgrimage and some of the pilgrim-images in human life. It also explores the images of light and enlightenment as they pertain to the pilgrimage experience, suggesting that enlightenment, in a religious sense, is an act of surrender instead of will.
