Zusammenfassung:One hundred candidates for open heart surgery were rated preoperatively by means of an Acceptance Scale. The rating was found to have a strong correlation with the result of surgery. It is believed that the scale is sufficiently predictive to allow identification of a high-risk group of patients who should receive an intensive ministry before they are operated on. The scale is probably applicable to a very broad variety of surgical patients.
