Description
Résumé:Every one of us is followed by a shadow. This world, which is both under and behind the mask of the persona and social action, which Jung had called it, with an expression that Dostoevsky renames, the "basements of the soul". The dualism between the ego and the shadow leads us to experience inner conflicts and "limit situations". The "shipwreck" is the philosophical figure with which Jaspers defines the ultimate meaning of human existence: the "limit situations" seem to be labyrinths with no way out, nevertheless at the same time contain the possibility of being overcome. These are crucial moments in which, despite difficulty and uncertainty, we can see more clearly the horizon and the meaning of our life: all that gives meaning and significance to our existence. As Viktor Frankl observed, it is surprising and encouraging to see how people, even wounded, can flourish after experiencing limitless experiences: they discover their abilities, the deepest potential previously hidden in the shadows. It is as if, after the great shock of life, they find the purest and most distinctive potential that lives in them. And after having found it, they decide to live on the basis of this, without losing it along the way, showing and sharing with the rest of human beings the most profound and authentic is potentially inherent in their being.
