| Summary: | Embodiment theologies have tended to assume a “normal” body, failing to pay attention to particularities such as the experience(s) of disability. Theologian Sallie McFague's model of the world as the body of God provides a potentially valuable way for us to consider thoughtfully the nature of God and the world in light of the human experience of limits. By putting McFague's work in conversation with experiences of disability, this article shows how theological reflection on disability can strengthen her own argument and can offer new images and possibilities for theological construction. |
