Description
Summary:The article starts from a detailed presentation of the important volume, with great heuristic richness, of S. Zucal on the philosophy of birth. There is a clear ambivalence: on the one hand a pessimistic view in a gnostic style that is present in various ancient and medieval currents, but also in contemporary authors such as Cioran and Anders; on the other hand, a positive conception represented by the feminine thought of H. Arendt and M. Zambrano and of believing thinkers such as Henry, Marion, Levinas, Guardini. It concludes by proposing some theological resonances: the themes of the creatural filiation of humans, the baptismal rebirth and the dies natalis.
