| Summary: | John Schellenberg has championed one of the most prominent atheistic arguments in contemporary debates. According to him, there are reasonable and inculpable non-believers (who have best reasons in order not to believe), and it is God who is to be faulted for their unbelief; but God cannot be thought of as culpable; consequently, God does not exist. The author shows that this argument is only seemingly beneficial to unbelievers and detrimental to believers. On the contrary, at a closer inspection, it is seemingly detrimental to unbelievers and ultimately beneficial to believers. |
