| Summary: | The general discomfort regarding the concept of "virtue" urges the theologian today to take up the demands and re-elaborate them, taking into account a civil framework in which the cultural references that in the past supported the practice disappeared. To this scope, the study focuses on the semantic developments of the term areté and on its scriptural resumption, to then illustrate, in a synthetic historical retrospective, the Christian re-elaboration of virtue. Once the general outlines of the reflection are outlined, the foundations are laid for its correct and conscious theological re-elaboration, which knows how to preserve the link with the spiritual tradition and at the same time purify the theme from every naive incongruity. Il disagio generalizzato nei riguardi del concetto di "virtù" sollecita oggi il teologo a riprenderne le istanze e a rielaborarle, tenendo conto di un quadro civile nel quale sono venuti meno i riferimenti culturali che in passato ne sostenevano la pratica. A questo fine, lo studio si sofferma sugli sviluppi semantici del termine areté e sulla sua ripresa scritturistica, per illustrare poi, in una sintetica retrospettiva storica, la rielaborazione cristiana della virtù. Una volta delineati i contorni generali della riflessione, vengono gettate le basi per una sua corretta e consapevole rielaborazione teologica, che sappia conservare il legame con la tradizione spirituale e al tempo stesso purificare il tema da ogni ingenua incongruenza. |
