Description
Summary:This lesson series discusses gods as reflection and part of human sociality. Following Feuerbach‘s theory of religion, the series conceptualizes gods as projections of human attributes and applies this idea to all higher and lower transcendent personalities. The phenomenological approach to ‚gods‘ allows an exploratory and playful evaluation of religious narratives and mythology. While the series does not propose a distinct definition of religion, it offers a framework for the typology and contextualization of stories of the divine. These lesson contents are brought in relation to the subject of gender. The process of ‚socialization‘ is conceptualized as the formation of individuals within networks of interrelatedness, which are seen as constitutive for both human and divine personas. Theoretical concepts from kinship studies are discussed through reading and designing diagrams of interrelatedness.
