Description
Summary:In the philosophical panorama of the twentieth century, neoclassical philosophy is characterized by having given a new form to the classical ideal of a metaphysical construction. The main elements of novelty consist in a sympathetic relationship with modern philosophy as a function of a more rigorous "introduction" to metaphysical knowledge and in a specific enhancement of the Parmenides Principle as the foundation of the same knowledge. This program found its concrete execution in the thought of Gustavo Bontadini, who was assisted in this work by his pupil Emanuele Severino. The subsequent developments of Severino's thought led the master to a renewed reflection on the structure of his speculative system. After having exposed the components of neoclassical metaphysics and having taken up the essential threads of the discussion between Severino and Bontadini, in the essay the author presents some personal developments concerning the problem of God in the horizon of neoclassical thought.
