Summary:What is "Phenomenology of Religion"? This article maintains that it is not a discipline but the formulation of an essential link between phenomenology and philosophy of religion, between phenomenological epoché and the epoch of philosophy of religion. In particular, it will be shown that Levinas' appropriation of the Heideggerian idea of ontotheology allows to pinpoint in the § 58 of Husserl's Ideas the moment in which God comes into phenomenology. The methodological necessity of bracketing God's existence turns out to be the phenomenological way to think the epoch of the crisis of ontotheology.
