| Summary: | El Sínodo sobre Amazonia fue un tiempo de gracia o de kairóspara soñar ycomprometerse con Dios por la vida y por la humanidad; amar a la Madre Tie-rra y a sus hijos más pequeños y llevar a la realidad los ideales que Dios sem-bró en los pueblos originarios y que nuestro Señor Jesucristo vino a plenificar.Con su teología ancestral los indígenas del continente amerindio vivieron enarmonía por mucho tiempo y con esta teología recibieron de manera incultu-rada la fe cristiana. En el Sínodo la palabra indígena muestra una presencianueva y pone los pueblos originarios dentro de las iglesias y de la sociedadreclamando cambios de fondo en la manera de relacionarse con una porciónantigua de la humanidad antes callada y sumisa, ahora sumamente exigentede renovaciones. Las condiciones para los cambios todavía no están dadas algrado que se requiere, pero habrá que caminar con firmeza hacia esos idea-les. De no hacerlo los indígenas no llegarán a asumir a las iglesias como alia-das de ellos, y las iglesias perderán la oportunidad de inculturarse verdadera-mente en estos pueblos. The Synod on Amazonia was a time of grace and kairósto dream and to com-mit oneself to God for the sake of life and humanity; to love Mother Earth andher smallest children and to turn into reality the ideals that God sowed in the na-tive peoples and that our Lord Jesus Christ came to fulfill. Through their ances-tral theology, the indigenous people of the Amerindian continent lived in harmo-ny for a long time and through this theology, they received the Christian faith inan inculturated way. During the Synod, indigenous people took the floor in anunprecedented way standing for their right to be within the churches and soci-ety, calling for fundamental changes in the way themselves – an ancient portionof humanity that was once silent and submissive, now demanding game-chang-ing renewal – are dealt with. Although the conditions for these changes are notyet in place to the required extent, it will be necessary to walk firmly towardsthese ideals. Should Churches fail to do so, the indigenous people will not beable to assume them as their allies, and the churches will lose the opportunityto become truly inculturated in these people |
