| Summary: | This paper was originally published as a chapter in the book Mysticism and Philosophical Analysis, edited by Steven T. Katz and published by Oxford University Press in 1978. The text deals with epistemological issues of mysticism and problematizes some conceptions of this theme, its aim is especially to mark a way of approaching the data provided by mystics, focusing especially on the attempt to defend the conception as such as ideas are mediated by cultural, social, and religious contexts, mystical experiences are experienced, as the author prefers to say, interpreted, in different ways according to these same contexts. Esse artigo foi originalmente publicado como capítulo do livro Mysticism and Philosophical Analysis,organizado por Steven T. Katz e publicado pela Oxford University Press em 1978. O texto trata de questões epistemológicas da mística e problematiza uma série de concepções dessa temática, tendopor principal objetivo marcar uma maneira de abordar os dados fornecidos pelos místicos, concentrando-se especialmente na tentativa de defender a concepção de que assim como as ideias são mediadas por contextos culturais, sociais e religiosos, as experiências místicas são vivenciadas, ou como prefere dizer o autor, interpretadas,de formas diferenciadas de acordo com esses mesmos contextos.As referências do original juntamente com a tradução do texto foram convertidaspara normas da ABNT. |
