| Summary: | Este artículo propone algunas perspectivas interpretativas sobre la caída reciente de las vocaciones femeninas religiosas en el Perú, fenómeno común a toda América Latina que no suscita la atención de los autores y que contrasta con el ligero aumento de las vocaciones sacerdotales muy ponderado por varios especialistas. Esta caída es el resultado de una sinergia negativa: mientras que las oportunidades de desarrollo personal autónomo y de reconocimiento en la sociedad civil y en otras Iglesias, en particular pentecostales, se han multiplicado, en la Iglesia católica se mantiene una situación que tiende a minusvalorar el rol de las mujeres. Además, algunos aspectos de la vida religiosa desarrollada en otros lares no corresponden a la realidad latinoamericana. La falta de vocación provoca hoy un stress que ahuyenta a las jóvenes. This article aims at interpreting the recent fall in feminine religious vocations in Peru, an unstudied Latino American phenomenon. In contrast, priest vocations show a slight increase highlighted and analyzed by many specialists. The fall in feminine religious vocations originates in a negative synergy. Opportunities of personal autono-mous development and recognition in civil society and other Chur-ches have dramatically increased, meanwhile in the Catholic Church, the situation which tends to underestimate women’s role, has not changed. Besides, some features in religious life which originated in the Northern hemisphere are at odds with Latino American ways of life. The lack of vocations implies today a stress which keeps off youngsters. |
