| Summary: | A comunicação procura analisar as representações de gênero no contexto do trabalho feminino da Igreja Presbiteriana do Brasil, representante do chamado "protestantismo de missão". Ao verificar os artigos da SAF em Revista, publicação oficial do Trabalho Feminino/IPB, a pesquisa identificou práticas discursivas misóginas, relacionando-as com o fundamentalismo protestante. Inicialmente, procura-se explicitar a relevância da categoria gênero no estudo das representações sociais que perpassam as revistas analisadas. Em seguida, no contexto da revista supra, procura-se catalogar os símbolos culturais (religiosos) colocados na vida social, que evocam múltiplas representações, formando toda uma simbologia em torno do ser homem e ser mulher. Finalmente, constata-se que, dentro da IPB, organização religiosa na qual se dão as relações sociais apresentadas no corpo desse trabalho, a SAF em Revista é responsável pela reprodução sistemática dos conceitos normativos que expressam interpretações dos significados dos símbolos religiosos. Em suma, procura atuar de forma preponderante no processo de socialização das mulheres presbiterianas. This paper seeks to analyze the gender repre-sentations in the context of women’s workwithin the Presbyterian Church of Brazil(IPB), which is a representative of the so-called “mission Protestantism”. When check-ing the articles of SAF em Revista, officialpublication of the Women’s Work/IPB, thisresearch identified misogynous discursivepractices and related them with the ProtestantFundamentalism. Initially, we sought to ex-plain the relevance of the gender category inthe study of social representations that crossthe analyzed magazines. Then, in the contextof the said magazine, we seek to catalog thecultural (religious) symbols placed in sociallife that evoke multiple representations, form-ing a whole symbolism around the conditionof being a man and being a woman. Finally,we verify that, within IPB, the religious or-ganization where the social relations pre-sented in the body of this work occur, SAFem Revista is responsible for the systematicreproduction of the normative concepts thatexpress interpretations of the meanings ofreligious symbols. In sum, it seeks to actpreponderantly in the process of socializationof Presbyterian women. |
