| Summary: | Richard Schaeffler is a central figure in the transcendental philosophy, who gave an extensive contribution to rethink the question of God in the context of experience of the reality. Starting from the transcendental analyses of the human approach to the reality, the German philosopher demonstrates how the cognitive activity arises from the previous divine call. Human experience seen by Schaeffler as a dialogue with reality lays suitable conceptual basis to the theological reflection reaffirming the reasonableness of religious discourse. To develop this dialogue with the reality, man has to adopt an attitude of confident respect to that presence that never allows itself to be fully inscribed in his concepts and sometimes provokes a radical reversal of the horizon of his experience and thus call him to con-constitute a new experience. This article aims at presenting the author’s fundamental philosophical-theological approach and some aspects of his critical assessment. (English) |
