This language undermines the status of people with disabilities who may be incapable of such doing. This article considers Jesus as the key to understanding the image of God. It argues that all human beings are made in God's image and that this image is displayed, through moral and interpersonal qualities, in relationship with God and others. This view includes people with disabilities, for they can experience relationship even without conscious participation. Three consequences of this view are discussed.
