Summary:The “three looks” (as described by Coulter, 2000) present a framework for understanding the dimension of spirituality within human relations, especially as those relationships occur within the helping professions. In this article, I briefly describe Dr. Coulter's “three ways of looking,” and then relate each of these “looks” to an experience of my own as a teacher of students and adults with significant disabilities.
