| Summary: | Este artigo analisa a configuração da religiosidade na música popular brasi-leira (MPB) a partir do exame da letra da canção Babylon, de Zeca Baleiro. Reconhece-se que a MPB pode se converter numa fonte inestimável de es-tudos culturais em virtude de seu valor estético marcado pelo hibridismo, resultante de sua abertura quanto a linguagens e manifestações culturais diversas, característica que a marcou em toda sua trajetória. Isso faz que conserve em seu seio, além dos elementos típicos da “brasilidade”, ques-tões comuns a uma sociedade globalizante, como a economia capitalista, a secularização e o fim do monopólio do aparelho religioso. Nesse con-texto, a MPB, juntamente com a literatura, torna-se espaço privilegiado na apreensão da individualidade que emerge na forma de uma religião à la carte, associada ao sensitivo e ao consumo de bens simbólicos, o que resulta numa experiência sincrética. Buscou-se, assim, fazer uma leitura de Babylon como roteiro de transição entre nomos, onde a plausibilidade é construída por meio do confronto entre sistemas econômicos que dão formato à ética do indivíduo e ao seu modus vivendi, em que a religião não é refutada, mas reprocessada dentro da lógica do mercado. This article analyze the configuration of the religiosity in Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) from the examination of the letter of the “Babylon” song, of Zeca Baleiro. It is recognized that the MPB can be become into an inestimable source of cultural studies in view of its aesthetic value marked by the hybridism, resultant of its opening taken with diverses languages and cultural manifestations. This makes with that it conserves among, beyond the typical elements of the “brasilidade”, common questions to a global society, as the capitalist economy, the secularization and the end of the monopoly of the religious instruments. In this context, the MPB, together with literature, becomes privileged spaces in the apprehension of the individuality that emerges there in the form of a religion à la carte, associated to the sensitive one and the consumption of symbolic goods, what it results in a syncretic experience. One searched, thus, to make a reading of “Babylon” as script of transition between nomos, where the plausibility is constructed by means of the confrontation between econo-mic systems that inside give format to the ethics of the individual and its way of life. In a word where the religion is not refuted, but reprocessada of the logic of the market. |
