| Summary: | Os holandeses ocuparam o Nordeste brasileiro de 1630 até 1654. Junto com a invasão veio a Igreja Cristã Reformada, servida por uns 50 pastores e 100 “consoladores” (evangelistas). Trouxeram suas bíblias e muitos outros livros interessantes. Depois de uma breve descrição desses livros, o artigo atém-se à pergunta sobre qual seria a importância hoje em dia desses volu-mes antiquados para a sociedade em geral e, especialmente, para a Igreja e seus obreiros, apontando até mesmo para o Pacto da Graça. The Dutch occupied northeastern Brazil from 1630 till 1654. Together with the invasion came the Christian Reformed Church, which was served by some 50 pastors and 100 “comporters” (evangelists). They brought there bibles and many other interesting books with them. After a short description of these books, the article focusses its atention on the question what could be the importance of those antiquated volumes for today’s society, and for the Church and her servants, pointing especially to God’s alliance of grace. |
