Essa Igreja expandiu-se substancialmente no Brasil, conseguiu arregimentar um número enorme de seguidores e conquistou expressiva visibilidade na mídia. Por estar in-serida dentro do neopentecostalismo, a Igreja da Graça reflete também a sua doutrina, que propõe banir a doença, a pobreza e todo o tipo de sofrimento da vida humana, a fim de produzir uma nova geração de fiéis: ricos e saudáveis. Se isso não acontece, significa que ele não tem fé, está sob o poder de Satã ou vivendo no pecado. Assim, a marca do verdadeiro cristão é a plena saúde física e emocional, além da prosperidade financeira. Há testemunhos de pessoas que afirmam terem sido beneficiadas com o discurso triunfalista do movimento. Entretanto, a teologia da prosperidade tem também produzido decepções, especialmente quando o milagre espe-rado não acontece. This text deals with the triumphant speech of the Brazilian newpentecos-tal movement in the Grace of God International Church. This church, with high visibility in the electronic media, has expanded substantially in the last decades with a large number of followers. As part of the newpen-tecostal movement, this group reflects its doctrine which proposes to bansickness, poverty and every kind of suffering from human life in order to produce a new type of Christian: healthy and wealthy. If this doesn’t come to pass, it means that the believer doesn’t have enough faith, is under the power of Satan or is living in sin. Thus, the characteristic of the true Christian is to have physical health and financial prosperity. There are testimonies of people who affirm to have benefited from the triumphant message of the movement. On the other hand, the prosperity theology has also produced disappointments, especially when the expected miracles don’t happen. |
