Summary: | This intervention discusses the question of education among millennials, in order to identify problems, challenges, and opportunities, and above all to denounce the sensation of oppression, which conditions the commitment of many people. The problems are obvious. Fragile youth is not an invention, and there is no shortage of «misguided» parents, but schools too have their contradictions. Nevertheless, many do not give in, perhaps reacting irregularly to the situation, «healing» rather than «educating». How, then, can one be proactive in an open society, in the difficult passage of culture from imposition to reasonableness? Does one educate more by «preaching» or with models, examples, and the atmosphere of the environment? Is education only a technique and a construction of competences or does it always call values into question? How can we rediscover today the specific language of education made up of proposals and practices, of «habits of the heart» to be cultivated over time, of «important/reference» adults who are involved in strenuous, hidden action?
