Description
Summary:Today we face different ways of dying, and in all these different situations an accompanying process of the dying person is necessary. Palliative care represents a possible way to intervene and to take care: a specific attention to needs and wishes of the person becomes relevant here, and it implies the possibility of also adopting forms of expression of choices and decisions regarding the end of life, as advance directives and living wills. The notion of relational autonomy is considered and adopted to better understand the moral value of these decisions. A specific regard is dedicated to religion, to its contribution to spirituality at the end of life, and to the myth of Care, as an anthropological interpretation of the meaning of life, time, and death.
