Description
Summary:The so-called «voice of conscience ̈ approves or disapproves of human actions, judging them to be good or bad. A person hears the voice of conscience inside, but not as his or her own. To whom does the voice of moral conscience belong (Conscience, Gewissen): to ourselves or to others? And if to others, maybe to God? In this short paper, after a brief historical survey (I), I suggest an interpretative hypothesis (II) of the mysterious phenomenon of moral consciousness, which aims at joining together its two dimensions - the theological and the anthropological one – more effi ciently than traditional moral theology.
