Description
Summary:Does biblical faith imply a specific notion of knowledge? And, even more precisely, is it possible to speak of a gendered form of biblical knowledge? This means asking oneself what type of epistemology is induced (or maybe only favored) by a structure of the knowledge of reality, which – being based on a not only occasional or contextual revelation of the divine – induces the necessity of listening, of otherness, of relationship as a condition of knowledge, and whether the perspective of gender has any bearing on such a knowledge structure of the real. Feminist biblical exegesis does not only aim at sustaining the renewed political and ecclesiastic practice of women, but it also wants to question a theoretical status quo which presumably remains unaffected by the principle of sexuation.
