Description
Summary:Generally only a male God-likeness has been determined. Theologians of the Middle ages thus substantiate the exclusion of women from ordination. For all patristic authors the imago Dei is a purely spiritual quality. Augustine determines a Trinitarian structure of the human soul. Augustine solves the problem of harmonizing Genesis 1 and 1 Corinthians 11 by an allegorical exegesis. In early modern times, women make use of this Augustine interpretation in their struggle for education and learning.
