Description
Summary:Generally speaking, the Bible and the New Testament as of old put forward the fundamental interdependence between worship and extra-liturgical life as an essential aspect in the existence of those who try believe in the God of Jesus Christ. This paper is an attempt to briefl y examine this argument according to a mainly exegetic and hermeneutic perspective, from the Bible to modern life and culture. To this scope it analyses the New Testament texts regarding the Last Supper. The paper’s objective is that of revealing its qualifying aspects with regard to worship and the extra-religious life of early Christians and of those who today try to be disciples of Jesus Christ crucifi ed and resurrected, following a perspective of ecumenical but also specifi cally catholic problematization of living the Eucharist/Last Supper foremost in the historical-cultural context of the contemporary western World.
