Description
Summary:One of the crucial points around which the polemics regarding Darwin have been revolving ever since the 19th century, regards the possibility of living a completely secular life; that is of understanding the functioning of nature in every minimal detail without losing the sense for the value of things, without loosing faith in the possibility of an ethical life, and, lastly, without losing love for life itself. Taking Max Weber’s famous thesis regarding the «Entzauberung der Welt» as a starting point, the author challenges the idea that the Darwinian discoveries necessarily entail the expulsion of morality and meaning from the world.
