Description
Summary:After having cleared in what sense the expression «religious indifference» is to be understood today, the text tries to make out a number of reasons for which the Word of God deposited in the Scriptures may not be able to speak to modern people any longer. Seeing that in the Scriptures the Word of God manifests itself «in the words of men», it is at this level that one can encounter a consolidation and a fixation of that, which belongs to a particular aspect of humanity’s history and that is believed, instead, to have absolute value. The ‘event’ is thus transformed into a ‘fact’, which simply imposes itself. Motivations and involvement are lost and therefore, one falls into religious indifference once again.
