| Summary: | The present article aimed, from the episode of the uprising of Muslim slaves in Brazil - the Males Revolt of 1835 in Bahia - to raise religious dynamics as possibility of insurgency discourses, by transposing central territories and peripheral zones. It was intended to understand, through the Males experience, the narratives that survived in the “interstitial spaces”, before and beyond the hegemonic discourses and their exclusion and validation mechanisms. Therefore, we mobilize in this analysis theories aligned with the postcolonial epistemologies, considering them as powerful tools for understanding this episode, that has much to contribute to the knowing of the experience of Islam in Brazil, as well as to the nuances that shape the African diaspora through the Atlantic Ocean. |
