| Summary: | Em 2014 a seção mineira da Ordem dos Pastores Batistas do Brasil votou não aceitar a ordenação feminina. Nos últimos anos diversas mulheres foram ordenadas pastoras, vindo a fazer parte da Ordem nacional, inclusive da sua diretoria estatutária. Mas estas não são aceitas nas seções estaduais. A questão gerou conflitos e levou a Ordem nacional a orientar às seções estaduais a deliberarem sobre o assunto. Algumas seções estaduais votaram favoráveis, outras, como a mineira, não. Todas justificaram a decisão em textos bíblicos. Buscando compreender o tema, a partir da pesquisa do cientista da religião João Pedro Gonçalves Araújo, recorremos a elementos que forjaram o pensamento batista brasileiro, e que estão presentes na cultura norte-americana e na sociedade burguesa europeia. In 2014 the Minas Gerais State section of the Order of Baptist Pastors of Brazil voted against accepting the ordination of women. In the last years several women were ordained pastors, becoming part of the national Order, including of its statutory board of directors, but they were not accepted in the state sections. The issue generated conflicts and led the national Order to direct the state sections to deliberate on the subject. Some state sections voted favorable and others, like the Minas Gerais State section, did not. They all justified the decision through biblical texts. Seeking to understand the subject, from the research of the religion scientist João Pedro Gonçalves Araújo, we resort to elements that forged the Brazilian Baptist thought, present in American culture and European bourgeois society. |
