| Summary: | David Peddle's essay explores a sense of spirituality informed by trinitarian contemplation and by reflection upon the Sermon on the Mount. Through a case study that analyses his own conflict resolution performance in a group conflict, Peddle grounds the concept of non-judgment in the insight approach and provides a practical guide to embodying the precepts of the Sermon and to more conscientious conflict engagement. The article shows how a defensive, contractual response to conflict involves us in epistemological and ontological distortion that undermines our capacity to know ourselves and others, and involves in a misrepresentation of other's character and actions. Cet essai souhaite explorer des pistes de spiritualité à la lumière de la contemplation trinitaire et de la réflexion sur le Sermon sur la montagne. À travers une étude de cas qui analyse sa propre performance à résoudre un conflit de groupe, l'auteur fonde le concept de "non-jugement" dans l'approche Insight de Lonergan et fournit un guide pratique pour incarner les préceptes du Sermon en vue d'un engagement plus conscient dans le conflit. Cette recherche entend montrer comment, dans un conflit, une réponse défensive et normée nous met dans une distorsion épistémologique et ontologique qui mine notre capacité à nous connaître et à connaître les autres. Elle implique une fausse représentation du caractère et des actions d'autrui. |
