In that regard, it will be demonstrated how Prince Myshkin’s character embodies Dostoevsky’s highest positive ideals in a moraland religious sense. Myshkin’s journey in the novel demonstrates the action of goodness in the world, and the inevitable failure of it as well. The bet is that thisfailure could become the symbol of a new religion, and that Dostoevsky’s artistic discourse is capable of demonstrating a positive direction out of this failure. | ||
