Muitos filósofos medievais escreveram textos místicos e visionários.Este artigo pretende discutir a posição de Wittgenstein à luz dos trabalhos de dois destes filósofos, o muçulmano iraniano Ibn Sina (Avicena) e o judeu espanhol Ibn Gabirol (Avicebron), que, ao lado de seus escritos estritamente filosóficos, deixaram algumas outras em linguagem simbólica e imagética. Wittgenstein asserts in the Tractatus that “whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent”. Mysticism is among these subjects, situated beyond the limits of the thinkable. Several medieval philosophers wrote mystical and visionary works. This article intends to discuss Wittgenstein’s position in the light of the works of two of these philosophers, the Iranian Muslim Ibn Sina (Avicena) and the Spanish Jew Ibn Gabirol (Avicebron), who left, besides their strictly philosophical writings, some others in symbolic and imagetic language. |
