| Summary: | Nos anos 1930 -1940, dois católicos pernambucanos, Manuel Lubambo e Luiz Delgado, por razões diferentes, mudaram seu “ethos”. Lubambo deixou o autoritarismo de Vargas pelo de Salazar e Delgado deixou o mesmo autoritarismo pela democracia de Jacques Maritain. Este artigo tenta explicar essas mudanças utilizando o pensamento de Clifford Geertz. In the 1930’s and 1940’s, two catholics from Pernambuco, Manuel Lubambo and Luiz Delgado, for different reasons, changed their “ethos”. Lubambo moved from the authoritarianism of Vargas to that of Salazar and Delgado left the same authoritarianism for the democracy of Jacques Maritain. This article tries to explain these changes using the position of Clifford Geertz. |
