| Summary: | O estudo acadêmico das religiões e o diálogo entre religiões ou as atividades "interreligiosas" (interfaith) não são, de modo algum, a mesma coisa. No entanto, eles compartilham uma percepção antes de tudo fundamental -isto é, de que as religiões são plurais em número. O artigo reflete sobre as tensões e relações entre as duas perspectivas tendo como base este pressuposto compartilhado. Ele também conclama para a reescrita da história do estudo comparado das religiões, levando em conta particularmente o pano de fundo político e ideológico. The academic study of religions and dialogue between religions or "interfaith" activities are by no means the same thing. Yet they share one rather fundamental perception. namely that religions are plural in number. The article reflects on the tensions and relations between the two perspectives on the basis of this shared presupposition. It also calls for a rewriting of the history of the comparative slUdy of religions. taking account in particular of the political and ideological background. |
