Essa reinterpretação descortina intuições relevantes também para a filosofia da religião, como fica demonstrado pelo trabalho, entre outros, de pensadores italianos recentes como Giorgio Penzo e mesmo Gianni Vattimo. O eixo da análise gogartiana da modernidade é o conceito de secularização. Conforme Gogarten, entre a secularização originária, intrínseca à fé cristã, e o que ele denomina de secularismo, encontram-se simultaneamente a fatalidade e a esperança da modernidade. A abordagem gogartiana da secularização tem como base uma apreciação empática e afirmativa da historicidade pertinente ao discurso moderno sobre si mesmo e a religião, sem deixar de buscar suas origens essenciais, como descoberta da mundaneidade do mundo, no cristianismo. Assim, não se trata em primeiro lugar da mensuração de fatos sociológicos, mas de uma investigação interpretativa-hermenêutica da secularização contendo matize's teológicos e desdobramentos ontológicos peculiares. Friedrich Gogarten 's work constitutes one of the most challenging reinterpretations of modernity fram the vantage point of Protestant thought. This reinterpretation also opens up relevant insights for the philosophy of religion, as shown by the work, among others, of recent Italian thinkers such as Giorgio Penzo and even Gianni Vattimo. The core of Gogarten's analysis of modernity lies in the concept of secularization. According to Gogarten, it is betwixt and between the originary secularization intrinsic to Christian faith, on the one hand, and what he calls secularism, on the other, that modernity's despair and hope are simultaneously found. Gogarten's approach to secularization revolves on a empathic and affirmative appreciation of the historicity which belongs to modern discourse about itself and religion. At the same time, it does not shy away from looking for its essential origins in Christianity, precisely as the discovery of the worldliness of the world. Thus, what is at stake is not primarily a measurement of sociological facts, but rather an interpretivehermeneutic inquiry into secularization which displays peculiar theological overtones and ontological implications. |
