| Summary: | Furio Jesi’s work has received attention especially among philosophers, but it presents aspects that are essential for historians of ancient religions as well. The purpose of this article is to highlight some of these aspects, namely: Jesi’s dialogue with his “masters”, in particular with K. Kerényi; the way he “uses” poets in dealing with theoretical and exegetical questions; his ideas about the limits of every scholarly undertaking. At the end of my article I also show the political relevance Jesi’s intellectual personality can have for our time. La ricezione di Furio Jesi ha riguardato finora soprattutto i filosofi e i critici della cultura, ma ci sono aspetti della sua riflessione che sono vitali anche per gli storici delle religioni del mondo antico. In questo articolo discuto alcuni di questi aspetti: il suo modo di dialogare con i propri maestri, in particolare K. Kerényi; l’uso che egli fa dei poeti nell’affrontare questioni teoretiche ed esegetiche; la sua riflessione circa i limiti di ogni operazione “scientifica”. In conclusione indico anche il significato più propriamente politico che la figura intellettuale di Jesi può avere per il nostro tempo. |
