The intoxication tekhet is, in several contexts, positively perceived. This papers focuses on the sensuous experience of intoxication in ancient Egyptian texts. Intoxication-tekhet seems to be especially characterized by a form of polysensoriality. By contrast, the work of the scribe requires the specific attention of the mind for the perception of the sight and the hearing. |
