Description
Summary:I can't help but imagine the surprise reaction when one reads the title of this book. What is Latin Islam? Was not Islam the religious column of the Arab world while the Latin represented the worldwide expansion of Catholicism? And as they read the subtitle they will exclaim: what is this book really about? I don't understand this of Muslim Mexicans in the United States! Arely Medina's study is surprising precisely because of these harsh mixtures of identities that have been displaced by diasporic processes (migratory flows, social networks, mass media, religious internationalization) that territorially and culturally displace individuals and different religious traditions that previously remained deeply anchored in traditions, territories and ethnic or social groups.
