Description
Summary:The paper examines some terms that define the Weberian methodology for the understanding of the modern world, specifically the characterization of the spheres of value as autonomous orders whose organizing principles arise from their own internal legality. From this perspective, the paper analyzes the religious reasons that underlie the intent of the Argentine Catholic Church to renounce to the financial support of the State in the 1990s. This purpose reveals a confrontation between both spheres to install their values and worldviews in the national society. The case study makes possible an evaluation of the applicability of Weber’s interpretative scheme to a specific contemporary situation.
