| Summary: | To show the relevance of Jean-François Malherbe’s approach towards autonomy, the author confronts it to a difficult clinical problem in Belgium: the demand for euthanasia. the concept of autonomy makes it possible to understand both the complexity of this demand and the anthropological and ethical tensions at work in the encounter between patient and clinician. only the use of the concept of transgression allows to honour autonomy’s mutual dimension when questioned by the death request. at a theological level, it is the notion of forgiveness that allows a clear understanding of the concepts of accountability and inheritance in order to think of life as covenant’s horizon where « salvation » is at stake. Al fine di mostrare la pertinenza della riflessione sull’autonomia di Jean-François Malherbe, l’autore la pone a confronto con una problematica clinica oggetto di accesa discussione in Belgio: la richiesta di eutanasia. Il concetto di autonomia consente di comprenderne la complessità e le tensioni antropologiche ed etiche all’opera nell’incontro tra medico e paziente. Solo il ricorso alla nozione di trasgressione permette di porre in risalto la duplice dimensione di autonomia che la richiesta di morte pone in gioco. E, da un punto di vista teologico, sarà la nozione di perdono a permettere una corretta comprensione di quelle di responsabilità e di eredità per pensare la vita nel suo orizzonte di alleanza, ove è in gioco la « salvezza ». |
