Description
Summary:"This book is a study of the work supposedly written by the first bishop to occupy the see of Santo Domingo, the Italian humanist Alessandro Geraldini, between 1519-1524: Itinerarium ad regiones sub aequinoctiali plaga constitutas. Until now, the Latin versions of said work had been reproduced and now, with this essay, we attach the transcription and translation of the Italian manuscript, signed by Pompeo Mongallo da Leonessa, which is preserved in the National Library of Portugal, without forgetting the other copy Italian from the British Library in London. Two glossaries have also been added, one for terms and the other for toponyms, in order to provide useful lexicographical and geographical information for both Spanish-speaking and Italian-speaking readers"--
