L'arte riporta l'anima all'interiorità della sua energia, alla sua capacità di permanere quando il tempo sfugge, ad accogliere ciò che è nella nudità e nella libertà della sua presenza. L'interiorità della libera attesa condiziona il riconoscimento del dono dell'arte e trasforma i nostri atti sensibili. L'articolo mostra quanto l'esperienza estetica dell'ascolto, nel significato qui esposto, sia propriamente religiosa, in sintonia con il primo comandamento biblico: «Ascolta la parola del Signore». Art is not a mere production of objects. Ideally, it is gratuitous. It touches each single person. It appears in freedom, when the soul gathers itself and undertakes the adventurous path of meaning. Art brings the soul back to its inward energy, to its capacity to endure when time flies, to welcome that-which-is within the nakedness and freedom of its presence. This inward freedom from expectations affects how art is acknowledged as a gift and transforms our sensible acts. The Article shows how the esthetic experience of listening, as understood here, is genuinely religious and in harmony with the Bible's first commandment: «Listen to the Word of the Lord». |
